Objectives of the School (PRU)
The purpose of PRU is, with God’s help, to advance the kingdom of God by training men and women to become effective Christian ministers of God and qualified Christian workers in His Churches. The faculty and administrators have committed themselves to equipping each student to become a Christian witness and servant-leader who will:
- Acquire and integrate an understanding of the content and meaning of Scripture.
- Communicate a personal life of Christian holiness to others.
- Cultivate Christian character through a personal relationship with Christ and personal application of Scripture.
- Understand and demonstrate a Biblically-rooted worldview.
- Apply with effectiveness the critical thinking skills necessary in an increasingly pluralistic world.
- Interact effectively with diverse cultures.
- Edify, educate and equip the Christian laity for service.
- Minister effectively within the context of modern society and contemporary technology.
- Embrace and inspire a vision of global evangelism.
Educational Degree Programs
PRU offers three Bachelor Degrees programs:
- Theology
- Christian Education
- Christian Health and Counseling in Church Music
In addition to the major subject, each bachelor degree is designed to give the student a solid basic understanding of the Bible, theology, and ministry in the local church. In order to graduate, each of the bachelor degrees requires 120 semester units for graduation: 80 units for the major, and 40 elective units.
We also offer five-Master Degrees.
- The Master of Divinity in Biblical Theology (M.Div.) degree requires 90 semester units of study, subsequent to a Bachelor, in biblical, theological, and practical ministry subjects. Our curriculum also includes subjects in Church history, current social movements, world mission, renewal, and church growth, all established on the foundation of biblical principles.
- The Master of Christian Education (MCE) requires 45 semester units of study, subsequent to a Bachelor, to graduate: 30semester units in the major subject, and 15 elective semester units for elective courses.
- The Master of Church Music (MCM) requires 45semester units of study, subsequent to a Bachelor: 30 semester units in the major subject of music, and 15 elective semester units in biblical and theological English.
- The Master of Christian Counseling (MCC) requires 45 semester units of study, subsequent to a Bachelor, to graduate: 30 semester unites in the major subject, and 15 elective semester units in theological studies.
- The Master of Christian Healing Mission (MCH) requires 45 semester units of study, subsequent to Bachelor, to graduate: 30 semester in the major subjects, and 15 selective semester units on theological studies.
- The Master of Theology (MA) requires 45 semester units of study, subsequent to Bachelor, to graduate: 30 semester in the major subjects, and 15 selective semester units on theological studies.
We offer six Doctoral Degrees (42 hrs class-units plus 6 hrs units dissertation = 48 hrs units).
All Doctorate Degrees apply the same hrs units).
- The Doctor of Christian Education degree requires 42 semester units of study, subsequent to the Master of Christian Education or the Master of Divinity with the required research dissertation (6 hrs units).
- The Doctor of Ministry degree requires 42 semester units of study with a required dissertation, (6 hrs units), subsequent to the Master of Divinity with a required research dissertation.
- The Doctor of Theology degree requires 42 semester units of study with a required dissertation, (6 hrs units), subsequent to the Master of Divinity with a required research dissertation.
- The Doctor of Christian Health Mission requires 42 semester units of study with dissertation (6 hrs units), subsequent to the Master of Christian Education, The Master of Divinity, or the Master of Theology with a required research dissertation.
- The Doctor of Missiology, and the Doctor of Theology require the same format with other Doctorate Degrees.
We also confer Honorary Doctoral Degrees in Humanity in Christian Perspectives, Christian Leadership, Biblical Literature, and Social Biblical Justice, and more when needed.
